I think it's bigger than Yahoo or MSN or whatever. It's the tone and the discourse of *all* online chat. This may sound trivial, but people don't even bother to say hi or bye any more. But still I refuse to believe that vitality has disappeared from people. Unfortunately I have no answers.

True this...and I also think texting had a lot to do with it, the decline of chatrooms. We spend so much time on phones, we get our social fix there.
