When I click the Discord links, I click the OK button and then I get an "Ooops, sorry. unable to connect" thoughts??

I cannot access Discord on an iPad. It may be an iOS permission issue so I gave up after a few attempts.

I think it might be to do with Adult content on iOS - I find of all the silly verification systems - Discord is the worst - "click on all the photos with a bicycle" "send your number" "enter a code" "stand on your head for 30 seconds"

To access Discord NSFW content on an iOS device, you must first log into Discord using either the desktop or web version, go into your Privacy & Safety settings, and enable the "Allow access to age-restricted servers on iOS" option.

It's part of Discord's compromise with Apple once the former started allowing NSFW content to keep the app available in the latter's App Store. You have to proactively opt-in from a non-iOS platform.

It's part of why Tumblr (ostensibly) banned porn - to stay on the Apple Store. Yeah, it's still there on Tumblr, but not as pervasive as it used to be, harder to find, and a lot of it gets nuked.

Apple will grudgingly allow NSFW content delivery through apps in the Apple Store, but users have to jump through hoops to get to it. Some - like hookup apps - have a paywall that effectively verifies age to get to it, others (like Discord) found a way for you to have to opt-in to get to it.

I tried to access Discord server, it gave me the iOS age restriction. I already changed it on my desktop. Still cant access it. Anyone know why?
