My dad was born in 1931, in the depression era and was VERY poor. They didn't have running water and only took a bath on Saturday night so they would be clean for church. I think that is because in the US they stopped offering showers after sports or PE. Probably because of a coach crossing the line or just saving money. Then, kids didn't have exposure and become comfortable. Also, my country is soooo prudish(sp?)
