Like the thread title says, chat is back up and running.

To go along with that, I've added a thread with the Chat Rules and Policies.

And, with chat back open, that puts the prohibition of "now" posts back into place.

This is great news, but ive tried going into the chatroom and i get the same error message as when it was down. Any ideas?

It refuses the connection if you are logged in, Rod. I am not planning on chatting tonight, anyway, but since others were having problems I tried it to see how it would work -- it fails immediately.

Seems to only be the java interface, guys. I wasn't able to get in using it, but could using the HTML option and an IRC client (which I have to use for mod purposes).

Room name hasn't changed, and with the HTML version working, I can't imagine why the java won't connect. That's in the owner's umbrella for coding.

Yes, I can get in using HTML and when it tells u that you are banned click in the word Jackinchat and it will let u in, just have to play around with it a bit

Click the "Chat" link up in the page header, then choose the HTML option to join.

Hey Rod, I can get in to chat with HTML but after about 30 seconds I get disconnected. "You have been disconnected. Attempting to reconnect you..." It tries to reconnect but never does. What do you think the problem is?

I've tried to log into chat with HTML several times but all I get is a page which says, "This Page Cannot Be Displayed."

I'll keep trying and I appreciate what you're doing.

No problem with html on my end..that one might be a client-side issue? I'm just speculating.

I spoke with you briefly on chat last night, but I wanted to say again...good job getting it up and running (and thanks). In reality, it's a sliver lining that the html version works. I think I actually like that version. I never tried it until last night.

I'm still having the same problem getting into chat today.

Earlier, I even had a problem getting into the Jackinchat homepage. But, I'm having no problems getting to other sites.
