It was a pic of two uni girls. One was visiting the other in Brum and they were looking for a guy for a 'good time' while she visited....

Very likely fake (probbaly wasn't even them in the pic) google can easily find if the pic is of them or not and I suspect not (although craigslist seems to be scammers/fake heaven)

As they say, most things that seem too good to be true generally are just that.

Tell me about it! Its absolutely full of time wasters! Gumtree used to be better, but they dont do it anymore. I must have chatted with 100's of guys on CL and met about 5!

The thing that makes it worse on CL is? The Genuine ad's are the ones that usually get taken down but the fake ones are seemingly allowed to stay! You would have thought.........what god knows how long CL been going that they would have put measures in to get rid of all the BS that rules the roost but apparently not so it would seem (and it ain't just the birmingham ad you highlighted) it's every CL place. It's sad (and there no real good alternatives either which is a shame)
