I read an article in the news today about men giving up on relationships with women and society in general, "The Sexodus Part 1: The Men Giving Up On Women And Checking Out Of Society" by Milo Yiannopoulos, and was wondering if this sort of thing is common with the people here on JackInChat, because it seems to describe guys on here.

"Social commentators, journalists, academics, scientists, and young men themselves have all spotted the trend: among men of about 15 to 30 years old, ever-increasing numbers are checking out of society altogether, giving up on women, sex, and relationships and retreating into pornography, sexual fetishes, chemical addictions, video games, and, in some cases, boorish lad culture, all of which insulate them from a hostile, debilitating social environment created, some argue, by the modern feminist movement."

Men are "ridiculed as basement-dwellers for avoiding aggressive, demanding women with unrealistic expectations, or called rapists and misogynists merely for expressing sexual interest."

"'... it causes a lot of them to just opt out of the game and retreat to the sanctuary of their groups of lads, where being rude to women gets you approval, and you can pretty much entirely avoid one-on-one socialising with the opposite sex.'"

The author uses the term "sexodus" to refer to the "large-scale exit from mainstream society by males who have decided they simply can't face, or be bothered with, forming healthy relationships and participating fully in their local communities, national democracies, and other real-world social structures."

"Why bother trying to work out what a woman wants, when you can play sports, masturbate or just play video games from the comfort of your bedroom?"

Jack Donovan writes, "Almost all young men have attended mandatory sexual harassment and anti-rape seminars, and they know that they can be fired, expelled, or arrested based more or less on the word of any woman. They know they are basically guilty until proven innocent in most situations."

The full article was longer.
Part 2 is supposed to have some example guys.

I gave up on women forty years ago and I've never really given a toss about "society". I guess I was ahead of my time!

Are those forces (women leveraging power to demand, men leveraging the opportunity to check out) not constants likely to be present wherever there are men and women? I suspect the person who feels these forces are novel is the person who has just learned about them.

I don't think they are new, but recent laws like California's "Yes Means Yes" increases the women-are-not-worth-the-trouble sentiment.

If my wife and I ever split, I'd more than likely never have a monogamous relationship with a woman again.

Porn and masturbation are my sex life now and would continue to be.

I see, for some men at least, the "JO bud" phenomenon as an expression of this phenomenon. We want to continue to enjoy the beauty and excitement of women and their bodies but we choose and seek to enhance do it with other men. This is not a "gay" activity. I do recognize that there are many shades of gray between "straight" and "gay." I consider myself "straight." I have zero interest in gay sex, porn or chat. But I really enjoy the online or in-person company of another "straight" male in the context of enjoying porn, especially what I will call "pussy porn," that is porn where a woman shows off her body and intimate parts. With a JO bud, at least we can celebrate and worship a woman's beauty in a social context rather than alone.

This is a real phenomenon, but not really anything new. If you read the history of the American West, you will see a romanticizing of the manly wilderness life and how much masculinity can be "tainted" by women. I think the radical downsizing of the American middle class and the stagnation of middle income wages is much more to blame for the retreat of some men from adult roles. If the economic means to expand into adult roles really don't exist, energy will go in other directions. The feminist movement takes some of the blame, but I just don't believe political ideology trumps biology or the economic facts "on the ground".

It's also true that with a JO buddy you celebrate each others masculinity by admiring his penis and enjoy the sight of each other erect and ejaculating. For me I'm fine with jacking a man off and being jacked off I think it's much more common than many believe. It's about sharing each others experience.
I don't see anything at all wrong with a little guy time. Most guys want this even if they don't admit it.smile

A lot of truth to many elements of these posts and of the article cited, I believe. Many of us crave the female body, but just don't have the stamina for the head games, mind-reading, and other bullshit that even the coolest-seeming chicks seem to cast after so much time in a 'relationship'.

Interesting article and it's a reflection of many things in modern relationships.

My younger friends now tend to date in ways I never a few decades back, it's all internet based hook-ups and both the male and female roles have been sharpened to how the other looks and little else, disengaging from the other person at the earliest sign of disagreement or a better option appearing. Some would say this is for the better but it does make the foundations of any relatinship weaker when people become selfish.

But.. I find that I got more women the less of a fuck I gave. Now I dont give a fuck at all and I get more pussy than I've ever had. Whilst I love jacking off daily there's nothing to beat the feel of a tit in your mouth or the thrill of a new pussy - I don't get the same thrill from a video game.
Jiggle Jiggle..

I've noticed the same thing among younger people. Everything is about material they hook up because of what each has or who they know. Social media is the driving force of their existence and relationships often don't last longer than a few months. A strange new world is developing where we're more disconnected in the personal sense but more connected electronically.
It's true that women of any age are all about mind games. I've never liked being hung out to dry in order to have a chance at sex.
