I've had many good times chatting with guys, camming, and sharing great pics. Gonna miss Messenger a lot.

Yahoo does promise a new desktop version of its new Messenger app. Meanwhile users will have to use the web version, which just isn't the same thing as the old program.

I wonder where the masturbation community will gravitate for video chats, etc. Many of us have always thought that YM was the best app out there. RIP.

Miss the old Yahoo Chat rooms. Especially Cum on Wive's pix rooms. Would love to find the equivalent.

Sorry to hear that. This was the only form of communication I used for chatting with jackinchat friends. Someone let me know a better alternative when you find it.

Skype works fine. Photo sharing, mic, screen share, better quality vid...

Outside of the "jerking community", who uses a desktop pc messaging application? No one. Every one uses web based clients (gchat, fb messenger, etc).Hell, most young people don't even use a computer anymore and that's the demo they're going after.

I always laugh when someone posts some girl's ym ID telling guys to message her. There hasn't been a girl on ym since 2007.

It was fun to use 10 years ago but it sucks now. Good riddance.

I still use my YIM. Lots of people I've "aquired" over the years on my list. Hell, I even still have my ICQ acct #, and it's a 5 digit one. A very rare occurance!

Yea, I miss HELLO, had some great jerk sessions on there. Skype works now for pics and screensharing vids. But, those good old days were fun.

I only set up YIM on my computer to talk with fellow jackers and share our sexual experiences with each other. Will the basic program be gone and will it be replaced by a better model?

qtox is a good alternative. It uses the encrypted Tor network for added security if that's of use to you. Just search qTox on google.

@Helix....Speak for yourself only, please...Your age tells me all I need to know...I love yahoo IM, use a desktop and have no tablet, or other devices for internet use or need one. My cell phone is for talking,and I abhor texting and don't.

If I NEEDED any of those frills I would use them..key word need...Enjoy what you like, just please don't speak for the many others that don't need to know the weather, sports scores or hear someone's voice at 9am while still in bed...
