I do all this stuff on my iPad and find Trillian works well for it. It's easy for picture sharing and chatting and the screen layout is ok, you can also set it so you don't receive notifications which I find essential. I also use kik but don't much like it, only really got it because it's all some people have, and if you wanna chat then.... As someone has said its a smartphone app so it's all too big on the screen for an iPad, when you're typing the keypad covers most of the screen. Haven't tried Skype because I'm not interested in video chatting, although can someone tell me can you talk to each other only and be looking at shared pictures at the same time? Quite like the idea of perving and moaning with while sharing pics...

There should be NO expectation for privacy on Skype or google chat.

Conversely, cyph.com and appear.in claim anonymity, encryption, and no logging. Use either of those, along with a VPN, and you are pretty secure.

I got trllian after reading about it in a few chats here, but never really liked it. Skype isn't my favorite and still haven't found anything to replace YIM. That was so good for trading pics and chat!

I've been trying Skibble.
The girls there are all 'bots, but the guys are real.
You can chat, send pix, mic, or go cam.
The problem is that you get connected to someone, and they might click you off and move on before you can initiate contact... You gotta be quick. And there's not many peaople using it, so it's slim pickings.
But when you do find a guy and you're both boning, well, it's a great way to connect!

I use chatstep, but the problem is finding a room. It seems once they get to 20 users, you can no longer see them to join in. So there used to be some good rooms named similarly to ikwnkrs, but i rarely find them now.

Interesting, because mutual jo on cam is the only reason I'm ever on Skype. I don't think it's a shit bud who wants to cam. But sure, if two buds are there for different reasons, no harm in going your separate ways to find the right kind of bud for you.
