Hey guys. Just some opinions .. what happened to the Yahoo Msngr days when there was so many ppl on yr friends list that you could pick n choose who u wanted to get off with. Seems today it is tuff to find even one !! Is it that the generation is gone or ppl use different outlets.. just trying to find a bud who enjoys hot babes n some mic on a weekly basis.. seems like that era is slim or even gone . Thoughts ?????

The internet evolved from a largely open and playful environment, to a closed-minded, fearful environment, full of threats, real or otherwise. It's inevitable that this will define very medium.

I was around in those early days of open platforms, and it really was as great as you say, but it's I can't see that time happening again. And it certainly won't be powered by a massive corporation.

Though the change has been dramatic, its happened subtly. All in the name of improvement and making more money, I think. Where the original excitement and connectedness made it a fun space to be open enough to say hey I'm just jaackin off over whatever, its a much more emotionally risk-ridden place now. And only a select few want to put their balls on the block when their pants are round their ankles.

I think we'll look back on it like some look back on the 60s. Right place, right time. If I could go back I would have had far more fun than I had. I thought it would last forever. It's all abundant, but there's no feeling now.

Yahoo Messenger sadly missed. Room topic choices and where I actually voice chatted with a female and got to watch another very hot girl strip off and dance on cam.

I remember the Yahoo days as well. Particularly the Yahoo rooms in which you could find devotees of virtually anything and everything. People were much more forthcoming and sharing back then. As you say I never went into a room where there wasn't more than a few people who were more than happy to chat. Now it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to say much more then"hmmmm" or "that's hot".

Ill tell you the reason i stopped looking for others to have fun with if you knew what you were into it took 2 minutes for whoever to go off in left field im here for Melissa Joan Hart and this guy is talking about strap ons and meeting up some place thats when i pulled the plug on chatting with others

It wasn't just Yahoo. Any online community, sex related or otherwise, contained more than enough people that would chat intelligently, and if you did meet them they were usually pretty cool.

I think the future is smaller, local communities, with some form of federation, but I have no fucking clue how it could be achieved.

I think chat rooms in general are dying. One of the problems is its usually the same people that are always in the same rooms, recycling the same stuff , same lines. endlessly. ( especially on jackinchat..) So people get bored with it and move on. Its rare to see new people. Even on some other sites, the same thing happens.

Pedo chat is what killed it. The rooms had advertising to make profit. It got out that teens were masturbating on cams for adults. Reporters wanting to make a name for themselves sensationalized it. The advertiser's ran away and yahoo closed down the rooms.

I feel lucky to remember those days. Real chat rooms, men and women, talking about the day and then getting more sexy as the night went on, but still chatting as a group. If you wanted more and you connected with somebody in there, you could both make your own room. Or if it got late enough, you might cum for the whole room.

You'd get some people uptight or judging, and some rooms didn't welcome anybody new. But if you looked it usually wasn't hard to find a friendly room that you could become a part of and then start getting off like you never dreamed.

Miss those days all the time.

Yahoo and msn were great for making friends with the same interets. The instant messages were great for having a decent conversation. I'm sure you could have a few in one instant message.

The Adult Friend finder chat room was one of the best chat rooms. Had a room for phone sex specifically. Had so many phone sex sessions with women on there. Maybe there are to many bad experiences of idiots online these days that wont accept a pic shared in the chat should be deleted after, not saved and spread around. Prob why it's so hard to find women open for fun any more.

Still miss those exciting late night group chats on Yahoo Messenger and some of the friends and acquaintances that I made there. One young man from Point Reyes, Cali., in particular, that made me admit to my bi-sexuality. Would love to chat with him one more time.

I'd say the issue nowadays is we live in a time of instant gratification. Too easy to get porn of what you are into and less time to chat due to social media. Best porn for me and chat though not instant is reddit
