Sorry for your loss. It just wasn't fair to routinely circumcise boys at birth. The frenulum is actually where the foreskin attaches to the underside of the glans. When you are circumcised most of the frenulum is lost along with the foreskin. The foreskin protects the entire glans from drying out and becoming desensitized.

For several decades the information was heavily biased in favor of circumcision using two main themes. One was hygiene which if you bathe regularly was a crock of shit and the other was that it would reduce the desire for boys to masturbate and as we all know now that is a total crock of shot as well. At the park lasting for a few decades the rate of routine infant circumcision was 95%-97%!! With education and better information as well as other things the rate is down around 50%.
